Debbie Mirman Stillman is a self-proclaimed CESJDS “lifer” who attended K-12 there and is now the mother of two sons thriving in the school’s academic and athletic programs. “Our kids are gaining an exceptional, values-based education,” she says. “They are effectively being prepared for college AND for living an inspired, meaningful life with Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) at their core.”

To create a lasting legacy, Debbie and her husband of 19 years, Dan, have included a bequest in their estate plan to ensure their future support for the school.

“Our hope is that families who might not otherwise be able to send their kids here can access financial support to make it possible,” she says. “We truly believe that investing in day school education strengthens our Jewish community and inspires Jewish continuity.”

Debbie was a member of the Alumni Board of Advisors for four years and served on the admissions team as a school ambassador recruiting and welcoming new families. She has also worked on the development committee soliciting donors each year for the Ma’ayan campaign.

“Our Jewish values teach us that we need to make this opportunity available to all families who want to be part of a Jewish day school experience like ours,” Debbie says. “We know that by investing in JDS, we are investing in building our Jewish community—one child at a time.”

The Stillmans encourage others to consider the legacies they could leave to support future Lions.

“Just as our families invested in us and our education, we now have the opportunity to invest in our children, their children, and the future generation of Jewish leaders,” Debbie concludes. “Join us in making a planned gift to JDS today—and make a difference in tomorrow.”
